Useful Information
How often should I water my indoor plants?
Each plant has specific watering requirements, but a general rule of green thumb is to make sure that the top 5cm of the soil in the pot is dry before watering. You can save a plant from drought easily enough, but it is hard to save a plant from drowning and root rot.
What can I use as an alternative to store-bought pesticides?
Store-bought pesticides are often expensive, difficult to find or dangerous for your pets. There is an easy home remedy that anyone can make at home: 1L water, 2tsp dish soap and 2tsp alcohol such as alcohol-based sanitiser or rubbing alcohol. Spray or wipe the leaves with the solution, and rinse afterwards.
What are the easiest indoor plants for beginners?
The easiest plants to maintain indoors are plants with low-light requirements such as snake plants, syngoniums and ferns. Other easy to care for indoor plants are pothos and heartleaf philodendrons.
